Patti Sherfy of Houston Texas is better known to the poodle world as the breeder behind the entity known for so many years as Sherfame Ranch. 

 At one time that business name was more appropriate  than it is today because in addition to her love for poodles she also was an avid horsewoman and raised Peruvian Horses. 

Of course a love for horses would be a natural for a native Texan as she was born and raised about 50 miles west of Fort Worth in Mineral Wells, Texas.

 When you ask this veteran breeder how long she has been breeding poodles her answer at first will stagger you. 

She has been caring for, breeding, and “lovin on” these little creatures for 61 years.  She began at age 9 because she found the poodle was pretty, elegant, intelligent, and “they didn’t shed.” 

 Over the years many readers will recall that the Sherfame brand has been found on many a champion, and doubtlessly, that name will still be discovered on pedigrees of many other excellent representatives of the breed. 

When asked which of her champions comes to mind first, it was Jodan’s Red Rebel o’ Sherfame that was the first name off her lips. 

She readily admits that there were others that were special, but because Rebel was the first one she mentions you just have to assume that this was one special dog.

 She is still actively campaigning other champions as well, because within the past 10 months she has had two more candidates finished and another is on the circuit at this moment.
